Hemp Clone FAQ
Hemp Clones, Genetics, Shipping & Compliance FAQ
This FAQ covers everything related to our USDA-compliant clones, genetics program, live-plant shipping, and regulatory considerations.
Who am I actually purchasing clones from?
Everyday Cannabis serves as the marketing and inquiry channel for our hemp genetics program, but all clone purchases and shipments are fulfilled by Almanac Planting Co. Almanac holds an active Pennsylvania hemp license and nursery license, which allows them to legally ship compliant hemp plants nationwide. All invoicing, fulfillment, shipping, and regulatory compliance for clone orders are handled through Almanac.
What license do I need to purchase hemp clones?
Licensed growers must provide a valid state or USDA hemp grower license before ordering. Your license must be current and must appear in the USDA Hemp Public Search Tool. We verify license status prior to invoicing or shipment.
What types of hemp clones do you offer?
We offer CBD-dominant hemp clones propagated from stable, field-proven mother stock. Our genetics focus on uniformity, vigor, early structure, and reliable Farm Bill-compliant cannabinoid profiles. Available cultivars vary seasonally based on demand and propagation cycles.
Are your clones photoperiodic or autoflower?
All of our cultivars are photoperiodic. We do not offer autoflower hemp clones at this time.
Have your cultivars been field-tested?
Yes. All of our cultivars have been grown, tested, and harvested in Pennsylvania—a Total THC state with strict pre-harvest testing requirements. These genetics have been successfully managed in a regulatory environment where the entire cannabinoid profile (not just delta-9 THC) is evaluated. This gives growers added confidence in performance and compliance consistency.
Are your genetics better for biomass or smokable flower?
Our cultivars are developed primarily for high-quality smokable flower, but they also perform well for biomass due to uniform structure and consistent cannabinoid expression. If you need guidance selecting cultivars for biomass, trimmed flower, or extraction markets, we’re happy to advise.
How are your clones propagated?
All clones are cut, rooted, and hardened off in a controlled environment. We follow standardized propagation SOPs used in commercial horticultural production to ensure consistent vigor and performance across batches.
Are your clones USDA-verified and Farm Bill compliant?
Yes. All genetics originate from compliant hemp stock producing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight. We operate under current USDA and state hemp rules, and maintain documentation required for lawful propagation and transport.
Do you provide COAs or compliance documentation?
Yes. COAs and compliance documentation are available upon request for licensed growers. Documentation includes recent potency testing and variety-level compliance history.
What makes your genetics different?
Our genetics are selected and maintained by operators who grow, test, and ship plants at scale. Stability, uniformity, and field-tested performance take priority over novelty. Our mother plant program is rigorously managed to preserve phenotype integrity across production cycles, and all cultivars have a multi-year compliance track record in a Total THC testing environment.
How will the proposed federal changes to allowable hemp THC limits impact your clones?
The USDA has proposed updating the federal definition of hemp to allow up to 0.4% Total THC. Based on the information released to date, we do not foresee issues for our cultivars. Our genetics have been consistently grown and tested in Pennsylvania—one of the strictest 0.3% Total THC jurisdictions in the country—and have historically passed compliance testing under those requirements.
Our current understanding is that the proposed 0.4% Total THC threshold applies to finished hemp products, not to the living plant in the field. Even so, growers should remember that any hemp crop can go “hot” depending on environment, stress, timing, and management practices. Regular testing is essential, and growers remain responsible for ensuring their crops stay compliant through harvest.
How large do your hemp plants grow?
Plant size varies by cultivar, spacing, nutrition, and length of vegetative phase. Most of our CBD cultivars finish between 4–6 ft tall with a broad, bushy structure when grown outdoors. We can provide cultivar-specific expectations upon request.
Where do these cultivars perform best?
Our genetics have been successfully grown across the country in a wide range of climates—from humid regions to arid conditions, and from indoor controlled environments to full-field outdoor production. If you have a unique climate or production challenge, we can recommend the most appropriate cultivars.
What is the minimum order size?
The minimum order is one 72-count tray of rooted clones, with one cultivar per tray. We also offer a 12-count option in 4" pots for growers who need a smaller quantity; these sets must contain a single cultivar as well. Larger farms may request multi-tray, multi-week, or recurring propagation schedules.
Do you offer pricing for large or recurring orders?
Yes. Volume-based pricing is available for multi-tray, farm-scale, or recurring orders. Contact us for custom quotes.
Where can you ship hemp clones?
Almanac is able to ship hemp clones to licensed growers across the United States and to approved international growers, subject to each region’s import requirements.
Do you offer local pickup?
Local pickup in Clarion County, PA may be available for licensed growers by appointment.
How do you package live plants for shipment?
Clones are shipped in live-plant packaging designed to prevent moisture loss and mechanical shock. Each tray is stabilized to prevent shifting in transit, and all boxes are clearly labeled for orientation and handling.
How quickly do clones ship after ordering?
Timing depends on Almanac’s current propagation schedule and inventory. Most clones are cut and grown to order, but they occasionally have surplus rooted stock available for immediate shipment. Once your order is confirmed, we will provide an estimated ship window based on availability and environmental conditions.
Can I schedule my shipment for a specific date?
Yes. Growers may request a preferred ship date during the ordering process. We will confirm feasibility based on propagation timing and forecasted weather conditions.
What should I do when my clones arrive?
Inspect plants immediately, unwrap packaging, and allow clones to acclimate to their new environment. Water as needed based on media moisture levels and place plants under appropriate lighting. A short acclimation guide is included with every order.
Are customers responsible for state compliance?
Yes. While we follow all federal rules and vet orders for basic compliance, it is the grower’s responsibility to understand state and local regulations governing hemp cultivation, licensing, and plant transport.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We can ship hemp clones internationally, but these orders require additional compliance steps, export paperwork, and phytosanitary certifications. This process adds cost and extra lead time. If you need clones shipped outside the U.S., reach out and we’ll outline what your country requires and provide a custom quote.
Can you handle farm-scale or wholesale clone programs?
Yes. We offer structured propagation programs for licensed farms requiring consistent recurring or seasonal clone volume. Contact us for availability and scheduling.
How do I place a clone order or request availability?
You can submit a clone inquiry through the dedicated form on our clone inquiry page.
